We set out the next day for the trailhead, about 5 miles downstream. We actually exited the wilderness soon after leaving camp. The rest of the trip was through logged forest. It was logged long enough ago that it was still pretty. The part through Titmouse Gulch was especially pretty, although fatigue prevented me from photographing it. The trail followed an old flume and ditch system and ultimately stayed high above the river. The river headed down toward the old trailhead at Algren's Ranch. Eventually, we made it to Cascade Canyon Creek, the last water before the trailhead.

Before long we were back at the trailhead. We drove back to Mule Bridge Campground, where my truck was parked. Here's the trailhead.

And the bridge itself.

We took advantage of the huge pool beneath the bridge. This is a vertical panorama.

I cooled off in the pool.

That's the end of the hike. It was a great time that I'll long remember.
