Right before the trail started its descent into the Little North Fork drainage, Ramona videotaped English Peak.

A little further down the trail, I got a shot of the area around English Peak.

The old lookout isn't manned anymore, but the fire locator is reportedly still there for visitors to play with.

After a brief descent, we reached Tom Taylor's cabin. The spring there was outstanding...the coldest water we'd had in days. We loaded up. Three forest service workers were in residence there, sitting around an illegal campfire. We talked with them awhile and walked back to camp. I forgot my camera. We were camped around a nice meadow, away from the forest service mules and horses.

The camp itself was primitive, but a welcome sight.

Early the next day, we headed out. Before we did, however, a family of Gray Jays flew through camp. This is a fairly unusual sighting for California, and a first for me. Here's a youngster.
